Md,Masuduzzaman (Rajib); Staff Reporter: A passenger was detained at Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport with 105 pieces of gold bars weighing (15 kg 994 grams) kept into the juice machine. According to airport sources, on Wednesday (August 28) at 8 am, the gold bars were seized from the Bangladesh Biman flight (BG-252) from Sharjah by the officers of the security wing of the airport aviation and the members of the National Intelligence Agency (NSI). The passenger arrested in this incident is the son of Nurul Islam of Goramarakandi village in Towakul Bazar area of Goainghat upazila. Confirming the matter, Osmani Airport manager Hafiz Uddin Ahmed said at 11 a.m. on Wednesday that the passenger evaded the customs intelligence department and crossed the green channel of the airport to the parking lot. Later, the aviation security officers and NSI members working at Osmani Airport challenged him and brought him back to the Green Channel. After searching there, 105 pieces of gold bars were found hidden in the juice machine kept in his luggage and seized.
